Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee I think reps at AWS are noticeably less happy with their territories, sales plans, and leadership. Leadership is clueless, managed by people who have ridden the growth wave, and have no idea how to build a real sales organization now that things are getting competitive from other hyperscalers, or platforms like Snowflake/Databricks in the cloud.
Lots of territory re-orgs means reps have lost out on hard work they’ve built up with certain customers.
Sales plans are becoming over optimized, with less opportunities to make high commission checks.
Overall…AWS is a mature organization. If you’re looking for the big paydays, I think you’re now much better off looking toward the smaller, growing software orgs. Expect 300-400 to be the limit here for most sellers, unless you get a great territory or are an older rep with strategic sales experience, taking an L7 role in a good territory. Browse Other Reviews
