Above market comp and RSU awards and good work/life balance if you learn how to delegate to help scale. Heavy admin work, lots of writing (some helpful, most CYA). Sales leadership typically attracts (and rewards) data-driven operators with below average EQ and sales team culture is a distant priority over individual performance. AWS has a tendency to hire tenured sellers from other large tech companies that come in as “final drafts” and the path from DG rep (usually 3-4 roles and 2-3 level promotions to get there) to the field is nearly impossible since AWS hires people at lower levels to play very specific roles within a system that isn’t transferable outside of AWS. Lots of team/role/leader changes (I’ve had 6 managers and 3 roles in 3.5 years). Navigating high-frequency change requires almost as much skill as customer-facing sales experience.
