The role has been okay so far. I came in with the expectation that there would be no micromanaging, and my manager was very good about this at first. The company has increased their revenue 300% in the past three years. They just had their first bad quarter the first quarter I started. Also, a new Sales Director was hired. After not hitting the companies target in Q2, we have been micromanaged to an extreme level. If I were to go to all my internal meetings, they would take up 3.5 hours a day. Regardless of whether or not, you are hitting quota, you must hit the number of dials and emails assigned by management, or you will be put on a performance plan. This is all coming from the top down. It’s very obvious that even the managers do not like what is going on at the moment. Especially the team I’m on. We are always close to hitting 100% of quota as a team if we don’t hit it. The base pay is absolute crap but it’s one of the best commission structures I’ve seen. You were also working with existing customers which is nice.
