How does the typical career progression look for someone in the sales department at Yardi?

As with many other sales orgs, there are a lot of variables that go into this. Inexperienced reps will find themselves starting out in BD or inside sales at the Associate AE level. Depending on productivity, quota attainment, and general team spirit, a standard progression can take about 1 year to promote to the Junior AE level. And then anywhere from another year to two (sometimes 3) to attain AE. At this point, the AE may be fortunate enough to slide into an outside sales role or might find themselves working SMB inside sales still. Please note that this is a "typical" path that I've noticed and applies to many average or sub-par performing reps. If you're a rockstar on the right team, you will be noticed and they'll fast-track you upstream. It is not uncommon to get hired directly as an AE into either inside or outside sales (i.e., SMB or MM) if you have relevant experience and openings are available. Also, this "career track progression" is highly dependent on what re-orgs are taking place. Re-orgs appear to happen frequently at Yardi -- slots may open for either moving up-market as an AE or going leadership route (which is Team Lead, Manager, Director).
