Marketing told me they wouldn't be spending much time and effort on our dept because we were a small product line, yet Bill, Tim etc were breathing down our VP's neck to bring sales up. No time to learn the product and no training, and SDRs wouldn't sell our product either, same reasoning as marketing.

Being in the top 3 performers for my team even after the quota change didn't offer any job security, but your experience can differ greatly based on your manager.
