Which divisions, regions, or business units may be more or most advantageous to sell for and why?

Pros and Cons for both. In 2021 and 2022, SLED has seen a lot of success due to the government grants being provided from COVID relief. It has allowed schools, etc. to purchase Verkada with their grant funds. Corporate is also good because reps don't deal with certain buying cycles once or twice a year like there is with SLED.

Like many other high end tech companies, territory is  important to be successful since this is a premium priced product (rightfully so). Reps in rural patches of the country traditionally struggle since a lot of the local businesses either can't afford the premium price, or they do not value security compared to organizations near a metro area. Unfortunately (no matter what you're promised during interviews) territory placement is never finalized until you're already in training. People get promised territories while interviewing and it rarely holds true. Additionally, it's a company rule that once you're placed in a territory there's no switching (even if another territory opens up and you want it). The only way out of a territory is a promotion to management or enterprise. Promotions only occur if you've hit quota numerous quarters. For reps who are put in a tough territory from day one, this makes success at Verkada very difficult. In many cases it will be luck of the draw for those who see success immediately and those who have an uphill battle.

SLED and Corp both have their pros and cons, regionally speaking the east coast is still somewhat untapped but there’s potential everywhere. Some of the top reps are in regions you’d least expect.
