How strict is Varonis on the no PTO in the 4th quarter/last month of each quarter rule?

Very. Don’t do it. They have fired people in sales adjacent roles for requesting time off in October to take the family to Disney land.

They are very strict on that rule- unless you have a family emergency, your manager will not approve your PTO. Even if you have a family issue where you have to take a day or two off- you can even mark it off on your calendar because of perception issues.

To give an idea on the strictness here you should know that currently any time off from September through December must be approved by the WWVP of sales and the head of engineering.

When I was there 2020-22, chances of you taking off for PTO in Q4 are slim to none. Only exception is maternity or paternity leave

Very strict. No PTO allowed last quarter of the year, last month of each quarter and not PTO during SKO or other required trainings. Leadership requires you to fly out on weekends for trainings to reduce wasted working hours.

They are strict but if you are taking it in the start of the Quarter you can do it - definitely not in last month of the Q though.

Depends on current pipeline, no matter what quarter is you aren’t over 200% to goal don’t ever take PTO. And if you do take PTO don’t tell anyone because they have fired reps for working remote/taking PTO the last month of the quarter for attending funerals/weddings of family members.

Do not do this. You can work remote but you must be available at all times during this time for unexpected calls, salesforce updates, etc.

It you are a sales rep depends on your achievement and pipeline closure, like in every company I guess it’s common sense. I mean, if you are low on numbers and there are still opportunities that must be closed in the quarter/month and you ask for a PTO your manager will not be happy. Pavel

We're in Sales!? This is simply common sense. Varonis is as strict about no PTO in the 4th quarter/last month of each quarter as any other tech company.
