My experience with VMware was overall pretty solid. I joined as a contractor and worked there for almost 10 years. I did feel that my compensation was on the low side, and HR had very strict rules on your ability to be granted a raise. Culture was good and very solid perks. There was a lot of turnover and a lot of bureaucracy to deal with. I left before the Broadcom takeover, so I don't know how applicable this is anymore.

My overall experience was satisfactory. Products were pretty solid but Innovation was lagging. Everything changed with the Broadcom acquisition at the end of 2023.
