There is significant opportunity/white space, but senior leadership has shifted focus to profitability, which means things run lean, and resources are not as available as they once were. The comp model has changed over 2x over the past 8 months, which most point to cost-cutting efforts.

When I starter at Upwork, it was amazing. The leadership, support, compensation structure, and team culture were awesome. Especially for a new hire right out of college. The past year has been a different experience and it really went down hill.

The Upwork Enterprise solution cannot compete with the free version of Upwork, so it's a very tough sale. The free version does 85% of what clients care about, so getting them to go all in on an annual subscription fee along with higher % engagement fees is an uphill battle. Hardly any Enterprise AE's made quota last year, and it will not be better this year.
