There is significant opportunity/white space, but senior leadership has shifted focus to profitability, which means things run lean, and resources are not as available as they once were. The comp model has changed over 2x over the past 8 months, which most point to cost-cutting efforts.

Upwork has a pattern of hiring BDRs then doing a round of layoffs. So tenure at Upwork is very limited. Benefits are Upwork are amazing but base pay is bare minimum. Met some of the brightest and coolest people I've encounter professionally, it's a shame layoffs had to cut many people's time short. Overall bad experience. Leadership seems unaware of product fit, clients do not see product as any more than staffing. Annual layoffs. You cannot trust leadership.
