Tesla
Back to ReviewsFormer Employee My overall experience was great as everyone was aligned with the mission, we felt like we were changing the world. But in comparison to so many other opportunities, we were underpaid for what we did. No commission on sales at all, bonus was based on a team effort and most would be 3,500 a quarter. It does feel like the product sold itself as Tesla is the leading EV manufacturer. Tesla banks on the fact that you will stay simply because of the brand name and most people do. The best type of talent works here, super diverse, everyone is fun to be around. Layoffs are common and nobody ever feels safe, we commonly joke around saying “we’re alive but we’re dead”. Everyone used to love Elon but he’s treated all of us like a number and has lost all faith from his employees. No compassion if you’re thrown out, not performance based, if your number is picked then you’re out. Managers are usually only outsourced so very limited room for growth unless you have management experience already. They tend to target OG employees that have been there for 5+ years for layoffs.
