My seven-month tenure at Scorpion has been marked by unexpected challenges and disappointments. The leadership structure is problematic, with many managers seemingly unwilling to voice concerns to upper management, particularly the COO. This has resulted in ongoing issues affecting the team going unaddressed. The lack of developmental opportunities for representatives is a significant drawback. The business model appears to favor those who align closely with upper management, creating an environment that lacks fairness, especially for new employees. The sales team structure is inefficient, with Account Executives essentially performing dual roles (AE and SDR/BDR) without appropriate compensation. This not only impacts earning potential but also creates workflow inefficiencies. Being restricted to a single vertical is unusually limiting, hindering growth and adaptability in a dynamic market. These constraints on employee potential are unique in my professional experience and have been a source of frustration. Overall, Scorpion's approach seems to prioritize a narrow definition of loyalty over fostering a fair, growth-oriented environment. This has led to a work experience that falls short of expectations and industry standards, leaving much room for improvement in terms of employee development, team structure, and leadership practices.
