I was always told Samsara was one of those top tech companies to sell for as an AE....but after reading recent review here/glassdoor doesnt seem to be the case at all....Is the commercial AE role here a good place to sell or is boileroom-ish since its all outbound and very high quotas??

As a CML, your primary responsibility is to identify and close new logos within a fragmented and unorganized set of accounts in SFDC. In addition, you're assigned approximately 100 existing customer accounts, many of whom are frustrated due to frequent changes and a lack of consistency. These customers require assistance with renewals, billing, and general inquiries—tasks that, while necessary, are not compensated and take valuable time away from revenue-generating activities. If their concerns go unaddressed, it limits our ability to expand business within these accounts.
On top of this, new leadership has proven to be ineffective and unwilling to stand up for reps. Issues like stolen inbound leads and rerouted accounts go unchallenged, further demoralizing the team. The lack of accountability and advocacy only adds to the frustration, making it even harder to succeed in an environment where 95% of support tickets remain unresolved for months, further damaging customer satisfaction and retention.

It is an incredibly hard role. The amount of outbounding you do as a CML rep is insane- think 20-25 self sourced deals each quarter.

I don't think boiler room would be the correct word for Samsara. It's a great company to work at but it has noticeably changed in the past year or so. Inbound leads has decreased, and outbound has been the name of the game in order to succeed in a product that is in an oversaturated industry. I would definitely recommend Samsara as a company to work at but you will need to be very disciplined in continuously prospecting all while supporting your current customers with onboarding and any issues they may have as customer support quality has decreased as well. If you are hungry and motivated, I would join. But do not expect it to be an easy job at all if you aim to hit quota consistently.
