Oracle can be a complex organization to navigate. Learning to sell the deal internally can be as challenging as selling to your customer or prospect. Oracle is the first time in my career that I am both hunter and farmer. Pluses and minuses. Amazing technology. Wealth of resources. Deep industry partnerships. Never bet against Larry Ellison. About a 2 year learning curve before you start to feel comfortable navigating an extremely large organization with a self help culture. Opportunities abound, identify and align with a strong mentor or coach and be prepared to work. There is money to be made.

Oracle is an okay jumping off point for someones career but layoffs happen constantly and managment creates a pressure cooker enviornment. If you have a good territory theres opportuntiy to make a ton of money.

The overall sales experience at Oracle boils down to Team, Territory, and Timing. If those 3 are positive, you have tremendous earning potential. Otherwise, it can be a slow, fruitless experience.
