During my time at OneSpan, I encountered a lack of growth and professional development. The product was outdated and uncompetitive, with critical integrations promised but never delivered. The product team seemed stagnant, and there was little urgency to innovate.
The new VP of Sales was detached, rarely engaging with the sales team, even though he had fewer than 20 reps. Instead of strategizing or offering guidance, he only appeared to fire people or engage in public disputes with subordinates. This left the sales team feeling unsupported.
Leadership as a whole lacked vision and consistency. Their messaging shifted frequently, leaving employees confused and the company directionless. This inconsistency stunted growth and left us adrift.
Additionally, when seeking resources, employees were often met with unhelpful responses like "that's not my job." Compliance was also poorly handled, with legal suggesting customers "look it up on Google" during contract negotiations. This lack of professionalism and accountability, particularly around compliance, was concerning and left customers struggling to navigate issues on their own.
