Okta is a great company, and used to be a great sales org. As of recently, the commercial org made changes to a farmer/hunter split, and that has brought on significant challenges. The newer products are a tough sell for existing customers and lack a lot of critical features. The current customer role is battling churn, which makes it tough to extract ARR from a small account list. Quota is unattainable, and the new business team has half the quota that current customer AEs have.

Sales org has never recovered from the Splunk invasion. CEO is checked out. CRO doesn’t sit at the adult table. Company is run by CSM and CFO mgmt. Glory days are long over for sellers.

Org has changed a lot. Joined in late 2020 and culture was great as was pay. Times have changed.
