Okta was a challenging place to work but not for the reasons you might expect - opportunities on the “strat team” were few and far between where your 10 accounts were either customers who owned virtually everything or a Microsoft customer who had no intention of switching (Okta is a superior product but not superior enough to make the switch a no brainer for a happy-ish Microsoft customer). Hard to build a truly compelling business case. If you’re accustomed to an energetic environment with decent market velocity this is not your place. I will say on a positive note that the culture was positive / not toxic.

The people I worked with at Okta are awesome, but turnover in leadership has created confusion across the orgs. Coupled with bi-annual layoffs and re-orgs at the start of every fiscal, it started to feel a bit too tumultuous for people to feel comfortable.
