Back to ReviewsFormer Employee I worked at Microsoft for 17 years, beginning in the early Balmer era and continuing through to Nadella's tenure. During this time, I experienced many challenges and successes, and overall, my time there was very enriching. Although I now work for a competing company that pays me more and grants me more autonomy in my business, I was recognized for my service on multiple occasions while at Microsoft. I had the privilege of working in offices across North America, from Vancouver, BC to New York, and my time in New York was particularly rewarding.
As with any job, leadership quality is essential. During my tenure at Microsoft, I had the opportunity to work with a mix of great, adequate, and not-so-great leaders. Luckily, one of the great leaders I worked with now works at the company I joined after leaving Microsoft, which makes the competition even more rewarding.
Working at Microsoft helped me develop skills in team management, business management, and navigating changes in leadership and commitments from year to year. However, the most significant benefit was the opportunity to work with talented and inspiring people. It was an honor to serve and learn from them. Browse Other Reviews
