What is the sales leadership style and atmosphere like at Lucid Software?

It really depends on which location you are working from, but for the EMEA office, I found it to be fairly laid back.  Quite a few managers in the middle, which does lead to micromanagement.  In 2023, they did some optimizing replaced their VP of Sales and did a round of layoffs, but it could be that many were not meeting the quotas set.  A tough time, but I am sure Lucid will weather this storm.

As every Saas company, they focus on growth. There is a strong focus on accountability and performance management, but leaders lead with empathy. Most of the VPs of sales have been at Lucid for more than 5 years in NA and the one in EMEA, I think, for about 3 years. It always gives me a lot of comfort that all managers are sticking around for a long time. When I speak to friends who are also in sales, I hear quite often that this is not the case in their companies.

Overall, is everything perfect? No, there are always things to improve, but I am very happy at Lucid and with the leadership team there.

Lucid used to pride itself on putting people and culture first, but now that has taken a backseat in a more difficult environment. We’re missing revenue targets and the reps are to blame, according to leadership.

Lucid leadership preaches the need for accountability, but takes none themselves.

The CRO and the head of enterprise sales were let go. The best play they've come up with for their "success" is competitor buybacks. In other words, they're giving the product away. And that's after consolidating their multiple products into one single "suite" and selling it for the price of one. It's not benefiting Lucid as a company, only its investors. There are a of couple senior leaders who have been there for a while and they're nice but they're not impressive.

Truth is, visual collaboration is not a priority for companies. Collaboration is and that's why Slack and MS Teams exist but for a company to go out and purchase ANOTHER tool so you can think visually just falls far on the priority list. That's why most great revenue leaders with incredible experience don't last there.
