There is no upfront cost. Customers pay for hours worked, AEs call hospitality (hotels, caterers, country clubs, institutional dining, etc.) and light industrial (general warehouse workers) accounts most likely to need temp labor and are compensated relative to shift volume. The culture is great, the product is mostly great (temps can misbehave and tank deals, customers can cancel shifts), they overhired AEs but are trimming down and investing in training to better sales process and targeting

The people that work here are wonderful and talented. I think the sales organization fell into an easy trap of mass growth with no way to support it. Around 20% of the org is hitting quota for the last 6 months.
