How effective is the sales training provided at Instawork for individuals interested in pursuing a career in sales?

As a first sales job, you could do worse - as the other poster here stated, it's a grind and a lot of hours, but you might get from SDR to AE (especially with the amount of turnover in both roles) which can be great on the resume.

You'll get familiar with Salesforce, Salesloft, and a number of other tools (too many, really) which is great exposure and training to have if you don't already. That said, you'll learn a number of bad habits you'll eventually want to be coached out of when you eventually sell a better and more desirable product somewhere else.

Other downside is that you won't get much equity (and they probably won't get to an IPO anyway) so staying much beyond a year is of debatable value.

The training at Instawork is pretty solid if you're a recent college grad going down the SDR track. There is a clear path to promotion to an AE spot and it does happen to the SDRs who embrace the grind. And a grind it is if you want to make it more than 6 months. This is not a glamorous tech job with fancy offices, mental health days, and managers who coddle you. It's hyper competitive and requires a ton of prep work outside of normal working hours to ensure you have the self-sourced leads to succeed. If you aren't going to grind, you won't be here long enough to take advantage of the training.
