How is Diversity within Management ranks at IBM? Are there Female leaders in senior roles?

This might sound like it’s coming straight from marketing, but this is an area where IBM stands out and is noticeably different from its peers. It’s one of the first things I noticed when I was hired 5 years ago.  While there have been diversity initiatives across the tech industry in the past decade, IBM has pushed for this and had policies in place to support diverse talent since its inception (they made their anti-discrimination hiring policy official in the 1950s, before desegregation laws and the civil rights act). All that to say, you can see from within that the company has always empowered women and POC, as opposed to it being just a recent push, because of how many of them are high in the management ranks. Truly the place is just filled with some of the most impressive and experienced women in tech/business, and it’s just the norm here.

IBM was a pioneer in diversity promoting the first black VP way before the civil rights movement, as well as promoting women to leadership and research positions. There are a lot of women in the leadership ranks at IBM.

Yes, Ginni Rometty was CEO for 8+ years as a female leader. IBM is great for diversity and inclusion they they have many women, and visible minority people holding senior management, director, and VP level roles.

Yes, there is a ton of diversity - but sadly skills and qualifications of leaders are often overlooked which creates a different set of challenges.

When I left in 2017, there was decent diversity within management. IBM often touted their early pushes into diversity in hiring and from what I saw, they strove to continue that legacy.

There is plenty of diversity within management and my first 3 managers at IBM were all females and their managers were also females. Diversity and Inclusion is very important within IBM.
