What should I expect as someone starting the MM GS Role? It seems some of the responses previously were mainly geared towards a poor experience in SMB, curious if Mid-Market is any different.

LOL its worse. At one point 40% of mm was on PIP IN Q1/Q2. It’s a revolving door. No leads, crazy high quota. 80% chance you dont make it 12-15 months. Not trying to be a jerk just real feedback of what is happening from a current employee.

Similar, intense micro management bordering on harassment, managers in roles who haven’t spent longer than 6 months as reps so don’t understand MM sales, mm org obsessed with KPIs , more interested in hitting daily activity KPIs than CW deals it can seem

Very very tricky and toxic environment in Mid Market EMEA at the moment, lots of panic and mis calculated reactions in response to very missed quotas. Lots of disgruntled reps, 95% cold outbound, no leads,  a lot of PIPs. I’d avoid for now until things are sorted or quotas are reduced substantially

Mid Market is struggling the most of all US teams but no real change will happen until 2025. Recommend SMB or Corp for now regardless of your experience. Most SMB reps are selling companies that have 50-200 employees anyway.

Be ready to do 1 month of training and retain every bit of it because day 1 of month two, you are expected to have the same output in outbound activities as senior reps. If you wanna listen to gong or learn the tool, you do that after hours. I’m burnt out 1.5 months in…

I'm sorry to say but it is the same for MM, depending on your region, it can actually be a little harder because HS has more brand awareness in SMB than MM. You may get lucky and have a good manager who supports you so don't be too disheartened and maybe give it a chance. The money is great, so save as much as you can especially in your ramping months.
