How’s the Gartner for sales leaders segment doing?

All Gartner practices are growing but the sales practice isn’t growing at the same rate as many others. It’s an inherently smaller practice but it has pros and cons like any area of Gartner.

It’s a tough gig for sure. 
Lots of cut in sales, so as a result, our sales practice has been struggling.

Their renewal rates were 40+% last year as AEs. Selling to sales people is tough and DMIT in that persona is always a challenge. I would look at the end user biz and only the end user biz. Vendor is all influence focused and impossible to control client value.

Not too bad for a new(er), emerging and maturing function. Of all the functions within GBS (non-IT), Sales Leaders is one of the segments with the most room for rapid growth but that does come with growing pains. If I had to list 5 truly "ground floor" opportunities within a beast like Gartner, which are rare to find in companies this size, Sales Leaders would be on that list.

Retention is literally the worst in Gartner. DMIT in the sales function & the product isn’t sticky enough. It overlaps with marketing in a lot of companies & that’s owned by high tech (GTS). Leadership is horrible especially their east coast VP.
