What is the management style of the sales team at Freshworks?

I can only speak for the US business development team but the management is extremely poor. They have never promoted an individual out of the BD org and usually sit around 25% attainment. It is pretty shocking they have been able to stick around as long as they have. I would not recommend business development at Freshworks until they make some big changes.

In the Business Development org specifically, the management style is horrific. The senior leader never leaves his office, gaslights employees and threatens to blacklist employees from working at FW again when they leave. No wonder this org is a revolving door. Avg attainment is around 30%.

The management style varies drastically from one team to another (some great most not amazing) coming from someone who has been there almost 3 years.  The upper management typically comes from outside and their methods vary with their background orgs.  Mostly looking at the clip board and dictating answers that will help their own goals the most.

It’s nonexistent.  Management doesn’t even know what advice to give. They’ll tell you to look at your peers for advice, but your peers are hitting 10% quota.

Middle and front line managers typically give a lot of freedom in the field org.

This can be good or bad depending on your manager, but there isn’t a strong structure setting guidelines above them. Unfortunately this leads to a lot of whiplash and backtracking as priorities shift.

This will vary per org but for AEs recent leadership turnover has led to some very questionable hires at best. Zero understanding of what it is we actually do and just trying to copy/paste playbooks from companies like Oracle/Microsoft of a completely different scale and offering set. Becoming toxic

Management in the UK is woeful, absolutely no idea what they are doing and favouritism is everywhere. Never have I worked for less competent people

My experience with middle management has been good. However, sales teams are micromanaged a lot nowadays, which comes from the managers that are higher up. Priorities change every quarter.

By and large management is transparent and there to support you. Most people are team players and do a good job cooperating. My manager was always available and helped me grow my sales and business acumen.
