What is rep retention / turn-over like? Seems like good place to start your sales career and learn - but can you really settle in and have a 5+ year run at DocuSign and crush it?

Poor. They laid off 20% of their sales staff over the past 8 months. Management focuses on quick wins even at the enterprise level, and reps are expected to close large deals within a month even when asking governments to spend $1M+ per year. Completely absurd management who tries to sell to SLED and Enterprise like they are SMB companies, going so far as to instruct AE's to tell the CIO of an entire state government that "If you don't sign this month the price goes up!!!!!" as if they're selling goddamn mattresses.

100% agree with all the answers. They are running the business like SME (which the product is is, it's transactional) and trying to sell to large Enterprise businesses using ridiculous tactics. Managment is also horrendous and will onyl contact you if they want something, no support is offered.

Turn over is high. Learn? No. This is a immature SaaS company with no enterprise acumen. You wont crush it either. Most customers are still severely oversold since the pandemic and churn is high on the esign side. So, you will be selling into churn which is like swimming upstream. On the CLM side, they have no strategic partnerships and the product is disjointed. Just go somewhere else.

It's bad. Huge rounds of layoffs, plummeting stock prices, and a real sinking ship atmosphere. In the Upgrade From Web team, we were often encouraged to resort to borderline bullying and intimidation tactics to get current customers to upgrade their accounts, tacitly threatening to shut off their accounts because of "overtrending usage." I watched the constant bad-faith conversations and ridiculous quotas drive out many MDRs. The rest of us were laid off. I strongly suggest going elsewhere.

DocuSign is a resume killer.  In 6+ years there, I can't think of anyone who left for a bigger job.    The sales process is terrible and territories are picked over.  The only reason to work here would be if the job choice is AE at DocuSign vs BDR/MDR somewhere else.

People come and go. In The upgrade from web org turnover was so high they lowered the quotas for the whole year just to keep people from leaving (ones that were not laid off) and many are still struggling. It's a very territory based role - and unless you have a good one (NY, TX, FL) then good luck.

Although DocuSign has laid off 20%, retention rate is fairly good compared to most sales orgs. There are quite a bit of people in sales that have stayed longer than 5 years and some even 10 years. That comes to show how great of a company it is to work for (besides the layoffs of course).
