How challenging is it to reach sales targets as a newly hired Account Executive at Diligent?

The Governance and Boards product gives you the highest probability of hitting quota because they  are THE market leader no question.  They have so many Board members that use the product that they have the Network Effect.  On the other hand,  the Audit, Risk and Compliance solutions are difficult to sell.  There are so many glaring deficiencies in the product and you might have customers overlook them in demo's but eventually they will get frustrated with the product. Not to say they churn  but it really makes it hard to build a community of delighted customers that bring you with them to their new organizations. It's hard to hit quota at Diligent on the Audit Risk and Compliance teams because you rarely get referrals.

Depends on the product you're selling which also dictates the leadership. There is a small split on how sales teams should be run and the sales methodology. For biggest deals, you're better off looking at Auditboard or trying to land on their Blueprint product team. Boards IS the bread and butter, but the market is already pretty saturated and the product development is slow.

it does depend on which line of business you’re in, but I would say that it’s fairly difficult to achieve across-the-board.

Due to the lack of inbound leads, as well as a poorly competitive product, it’s going to be very difficult to hit more than 60% of target annually.

Depending on the product you sell For ex: Risk and Compliance products are not matured enough and have lots of gaps when compared with competitors.  I wouldn't recommend to join if you are planning to cover this portfolio.  Governance or Board products are more transactional and easier to sell.

It depends on the product you’re selling. If it’s Boards, Diligent is one of the market leaders and they have good references and use cases. You’ll definitely have opportunities and pipeline to manage. However, the other products are not as matured.
Of course, it will also depend on the market.
