What are the growth opportunities like at Dell? Recently accepted a Role for the SMB Account manager position.

Growth opportunities are reasonable for SMB ISR(Account manager) Be prepared to be visible, active in all areas of the company.(ERG groups, leadership development classes and so on) However like many corporations it can be very political and it is not always about most qualified or competent individual.

I disagree with both of the answers. I am in smb and the growth opportunities are better than any other segment. Make sure you hit your number and aren't a jerk to others and you can get promoted in a year. Work with your coach and manager and let them know what you want to do.

Don’t make the mistake and stick around waiting for growth within Dell…. You will be waiting decades and end up getting relatively no where.  They move slow, pay less then average, would recommend a SAAS company.

Get on the inside track with your manager. There is an executive training program that no one speaks of and is usually offered to whomever kisses A$$  best. In the East this was commonly a former sorority sister. Not a sexist statement , purely statistical. in the NYC 100 mile radius I haven't seen a minority and/or sis male promoted in @ 6 yrs. Great place to work for the first few years though!!! good luck!
