All the stats on here look pretty solid...any reason to stay away? Buddy recommended giving Cvent a look as a good place to cut my teeth

Not a bad company, BUT they have WAY too many tools that they try to use, and they stumble over themselves using them. It's not efficient. Something like Salesforce is not used efficiently so it makes leadership force you to go to a spreadsheet.  We are a software company yet fail to use software to manage ourselves.  We should be using our own software at least for all of our internal meetings, but we don't.  A LOT of steps/hoops to do one thing, and you spend hours searching a huge WIKI for answers to questions that peers or managers should be able to answer, but they don't have time, or you are more experienced then they are. Very mid-market mind-set, even in the Enterprise path, and extremely mid-management heavy.   Cvent just went back to private for the third time so we'll see what happens.  And what they say below, renewals only benefit the Account Managers. They brought me in saying they "team sell" but not in this economy - I wouldn't agree that goals are attainable.  If you are close by an office, they will insist you go in 2 days per week so if you were looking for 100% remote, prob not here.

Solid company, lots of leads to work. As an AE I don't have to prospect since I have my own SDR and steady inbound requests.

Oh, and they have a RECOVERABLE draw during training. But if you leave within 2 yrs, they try to make you pay it back. A great company that is confident about your experience would offer a NON-recoverable draw. So to claw it back if you aren’t happy is not a good sign.

Overall, solid company. Sales process is a bit janky, but manageable. Lots of cross-sell, upsell opportunity and strong renewal rates. No reasons to stay away.

Really great org if you come in as a Sr. AE, have proper sales training, and can run your own book of business.  I have a very hands off manager and now work 100% remote.   I will say, the training is weak, so you really have to sink your teeth into the market and our tech, but we are the leader in the space and its not a difficult sale.   I have not missed quota in my 5 years at cvent, but upside is not huge money if you want to make 400k+.  Goals are attainable and the people are great.

you mentioned cutting your teeth - wouldn’t necessarily recommend if you’re brand new to Sales.

If you have experience selling complex software and are a self-motivated learner and able to “figure stuff out” it’s a solid place to be. They reward you when you’re senior. Low prospecting required
