I worked for Lumen for nearly six years, then was RIFed with effectively zero warning. Nothing I could have done to stay, no offer to transfer me to another role or another team. Just "buh-bye, thanks for saving our customers". Some leadership there is *fantastic*, but generally the VP through C levels are 100% out of touch with reality and front line needs/expectations. Kate is a fantastic CEO, and person. They need to fire 3/4 of the VP and SVPs, and promote more of the directors to those roles, or remove them altogether.

Lumen had its challenges. In my three years there, I worked under two big-league CEOs, both completely different from the other. I saw many upper management walk out the door in my first year. I shuold have taken the hint. The problem with Lumen is that it only focused on networking/ISP. It's now trying to catch up with IT companies as an MSP. Their revenue has dried...Read More
