My best way of explaining this work enviroment as an Account Executive is that the CEO intentionally creates friction between teams. 1. SDR's are incentivized to pass anyone with a pulse willing to hop on a zoom call with an AE (seriously, no qualification). 2. AE's are expected to close 30% of those passes. 3. AE's are responsible for any cancellations (clawbacks) within the first 3-6 months. 4. Onboarding is incentivized based on "Net Retention". Meaning that they are actually motivated to get accounts to cancel as "not perfect fits" before onboarding completes in order to save the companies manipulation of the net retention score. Everyone works against each other and it's a very hostile environment of daily passive aggressive chats in every direction passing blame for closing a deal. AE's are caught in the middle of it.
