Being owned by Vista is never good for the employees or customers. Avalara is a neutral place to work but will continue to gradually get worse as private equity looks for more ways to increase profitability by increasing customer prices while looking for ways to suppress employee wages (e.g. no raises and making comp plan worse).

Leadership has been raising quota (and shrinking territories) since Jan 2024. Attainment has decreased significantly, any many reps have left/were fired. Low morale overall.

My overall experience at Avalara was interesting. I was under a vertical that wasn't the best at performing and the numbers were extremely different from other verticals. Management was sh*t and would get mad at you for going on vacation or make passive-aggressive comments. There's a ton of help you can get from other team leads and such.
