However, frequent shifts in the GTM strategy and low quota attainment across teams made it clear that moving on to another company with my polished skill set was the best decision.

Recently left Asana, was sad to go but was forced out by leadership. Some amazing people with some extremely immature leaders that lack self awareness and communication skills.

Reps aren't close to hitting unrealistic targets at every level- making a good living is difficult. Culture has shifted for the worse, unfortunately- leadership are mainly ex-Salesforce and it shows. Sadly, it's becoming less of a great place to work and more of a revolving door for salespeople. Something needs to change or it will be difficult to retain top talent.

Asana has been a great ride, I have been here for almost 6 years. Post-IPO, sales leadership changes have made it tough to adjust with constantly changing targets and some unattainable numbers. People are great, but sales targets are hard to reach.

If you can crack the code, the OTE is incredible. Most folks are not able to hit quote in the MM AE team.

Asana pays well, if you hit quota. Which has been a struggle the last couple years. They have incredibly high quotas with decreasing ACV. ENT expansion ACV = $20k & ENT new biz ACV = $8k. Challenging to compete against ClickUp and Monday because similar product capabilities and they will undercut costs to win deals. CFOs are looking to keep tech stacks lean and Asana can be seen as a nice-to-have.

Horrible - toxic, leadership does not care, revolving door, not sales led, do not want to pay. Don’t be fooled by base or OTE. No one is making money.

My overall experience was good. However, with an influx of competition and high-growth demands for the Chicago office, sales had severely dropped and they ended up going through rounds of lay-offs.

Highly political, clique driven management from an "old guard" constantly interfered with the company's sales strategy. Managers routinely had their authority usurped by people higher up in the company. Expectations are nonsensical and often contradictory. This created a revolving door on the team where several people were hired then PIPed out of the same position.

Overall my experience has been positive. I have the benefit of working for a great leader who sets realistic and challenging expectations. The company itself is in a period of growth, going from Product Led Growth focus to Sales Led Growth. The opportunity is there but there is still some inefficiencies internally due to it growing.

Overall working at Asana has been a great experience. We did go through a lot of turn over for reps as folks were not hitting their number. New CRO and leadership is giving people excitement and they are changing many aspect for the better.

Most of your success depends on the strength of your book. They are actively firing and re-hiring. If you are currently applying for an open position (AE July 2023) expect to inherit a very weak territory.
