Anyone else just have a horrendous experience here as a Major Accounts DM? Such an old school, boiler room style mentality with out of touch managers.

Kind of. The company is so large that middle management really impacts the culture that individual contributors end up in. I’ve had a mix of horrendous to slightly below average during my tenure but I know results vary across the org. I think that’s probably true for most payroll companies since the industry is so incestuous.

I think it really depends on your SE/VP in your region. I absolutely love my VP and we’re given a lot of autonomy, but I’ve heard of other regions who seem to be micromanaged on their activity

Virtually everyone in the division who isn't grandfathered into special treatment as a "favorite". It has essentially become SBS and 20%+ of new deals never go live or cancel before the 6 month audit period ends. New hires who do not belong in the roles don't know any better and are happy to be elevated out of poverty or moved on from a job like bartending or selling used cars. These used to be roles no one would leave, but now they became jobs the managers can't give away. Cost cutting is the name of the game at ADP now and for the foreseeable future.

Nah, people have just grown soft since the pandemic. Culture is great and there is money to be made. It’s not your typical cushy AE role where you are fed leads.
