It used to be excellent from culture and compensation perspective, but ever since the Broadcom merger raised everything changed.

Consistent changing of product and GTM strategy led to fairly stagnant global performance for the VMware Tanzu portfolio. Many of the top performing, higher-paid SEs and AEs were let go as part of the Broadcom acquisition. While comp remains fairly strong and competitive, time will tell how the software org responds to the changes with the newco.

This year we're being paid a recoverable draw of 100% OTE and paid on an area-wide team goal. Overachieving is nearly impossible.
