What is the culture like?

Beware of the "Bro culture" as the CRO is from AppDynamics and brought all of their buddies with them. There is definitely strong favoritism and promotions given to former AppD employees. For sales reps, territories and account lists have changed every 6 months, so be prepared to start over from scratch and still be expected to make your number. The channel partner program has changed 3 times in the last year and is a nightmare.  This company isn't what it was culture-wise prior to 2020, has gone WAY downhill since. I recommend speaking with former employees in your state to get a better understanding and the truth = fake Glassdoor reviews!

Spot on.

Dali and the AppD crew came guns blazing and started making changes before they even understood the landscape and without any industry experience, which easily set the company a year back. Selling a point solution to a small silo'd team is a completely different sale than selling a platform that requires buy in from several groups, and they tried to cookie cutter it.

Without COVID things would have turned south quick. They are now finally realizing they F'd up and are trying to remediate. Luckily, Zscaler has the best technology in the space right now, which has helped keep prospects engaged.

HR makes everyone do a glassdoor review after boot camp. Look at how long the reviewer's tenure is while reading, and take it with a grain of salt.

The culture is all driven around KPI's. If you come from AppD, you'll get promoted quickly. Hit your KPI's and integrate into the 'bro culture' and you'll be fine.

I've been working remote since joining Zscaler so can't comment on in-office culture but the field sales team is great - I'd say it leans more collaborative than competitive.

Anyone will take time to help and answer your questions / provide guidance on strategy when it comes to any aspect of the sale.

Overall best career move I've made - especially since COVID has made the value prop more relevant than ever before. The whole company is excited that the market is coming to us and the future potential.

ZS best tech in the industry! but its sales culture is Scientology. You're either in our you're out. Total big brother. Maybe good choice for early sales career? Tons of awesome training and messaging. But if you're bonified the W2 and 1099 potential is below average. Few ZS sales folks in any global market more than 2-3 years, verify yourself.

sounds like it's getting hard for you to recruit with sub-market comp. it's a small industry, and word spreads fast. zs doesn't have a first mover advantage anymore either. GLHF.

Don't fall for the misguided comments around "Bro Culture." (Who hurt you??) The culture and caliber of people at Zscaler is unparalleled, with women and diversity hiring increasing monthly. The leadership team hires the best talent (smart, sterling character, collaborative and problem solvers), and there are clear paths to promotion! Everyone is aligned and rowing in the same direction, so we can go faster together as a team.

Specific to my team, it's a fantastic group with a lot of creative individuals that share their ideas/tips and proactively push themselves and their teammates to improve. Passion and excitement is evident.

In addition to learning from your peers, there are also a lot great leader/coaches to help new hires maximize strengths, learn key skills, and overcome gaps, and they genuinely enjoy doing it!
