Current Employee The culture at Verizon leans heavily into micromanagement. Every move is tracked, from daily activity logs to constant KPI check-ins, which left very little room for autonomy or creativity. It felt like the focus was more on controlling behavior than developing talent.
The sales quotas were another major challenge — often unrealistic and misaligned with actual market conditions. Hitting quota felt less like a stretch goal and more like a setup for failure. It creates a cycle of stress and discouragement, even for high performers.
There’s also a strong “Kool-Aid” culture — a sense that you either blindly buy into the system or get left behind. Critical thinking or challenging the status quo isn’t welcomed. If you’re not all-in on the company narrative, you’re seen as a problem, not a contributor with perspective. Browse Other Reviews
