What is the sales leadership culture like at Verizon?

It can either be good or bad from leader to leader and even region to region.  They used to promote people based on sales achievement and not whether they would be good at managing people and that backfired.  I would ask to talk to direct reports to get a feel.

They don’t know how to handle performance pressure. They project everything to the level below them ironically leaving the most pressure on the frontline, when it should on those at the top.

Tough but if you are new to sales you will learn a lot and never deal with more micromanaging anywhere else.

Leadership in general is a mixed bag. There's little to no training for leaders, so they will have individual styles and techniques. The issue with that is there's a lot of pressure and they're not trained on how to manage. So a lot of it is shoved off onto the frontline simply due to a lack of experience handling pressure.

If you're weak or timid, be prepared. If you're strong and flexible, you'll be fine. Stay consistent and hit your own goals and they really won't have much to say.

Overall it’s a super toxic environment and the majority of the sales leaders are unprofessional and immature. The good ones are unfortunately the exception, and not the rule.

Verizon has a range of sales teams which effects the leadership culture.
Consumer retail wireless sales bases it culture on transactional sales & customer service. Leadership focuses on the customer experience. 
Business complex IP infrastructure sales bases its culture on growing revenue in a competitive marketplace. Leadership focuses on driving technology as a solution to the clients.
And then there are personalities, tenure, bureaucracy, and the largess of Verizon.
To the another poster comment, the leaders, team, region, and department drive the sales culture.

Verizon’s leadership is the biggest achilles heel , the leadership is overbloated and incompetent . Lack of direction and vision

Depends on the year. When the wireless biz is healthy everyone is happy, when it isn’t all other groups suffer.
