How challenging is it for a new AE at Upland Software to meet their sales quota?

Barely any AEs are even closing deals. Some have been here almost 8 months and still haven’t been able to close anything. It’s extremely hard

Ignore the anonymous person in the comments who thinks you can sell at Upland. I've been at it for 20+ years and just recently completed a multi-year stint at UPLD. They completely disregard the realities there. It is nearly unheard of for a rep to hit quota in any of the 5 BUs. It is by far the exception and not the rule. Average percent of quota as recently as last fall is about 35% - that is, the average rep attains about 35% of their quota. All the the bluster in the world about "if sales was easy, everyone would it" means nothing - the fact is that there are multiple headwinds a rep will face at UPLD. Stale products (almost no R&D), siloed BUs, poor comp structure, revolving door at the management level, poorly trained SDRs...the list is long.

Very few Mid Market AEs hit their quota. Very few reps have even closed a deal with some being with the organization 8+ months. There is no sales process, the products are a "nice to have" not a need. It is very challenging to replicate success at Upland as it currently stands.

If Sales was easy, everyone would do it. Meeting quota is a challenge but I think it's supposed to be. If you're looking for an easy ride or to simply take orders then Upland isn't the place. If you want to become that subject matter expert, add value to every communication and put in the work, you will be rewarded.
