Get ready to do lots of cold calling as the AE role is viewed as "full cycle" which just means you generate your own business and SDR support is "gravy". It's been said the AE role is a glorified SDR position.

AE's are also expected to run the full cycle with minimal to no BDR support. The training given encourages reps to be pushy to the point of harassment.
