Toast’s website highlights the growing retail business but specifically calls it the Restaurant Retail team. How does this team and its accounts differ from the restaurant business that Toast has traditionally targeted? Seems like overlap that could cause friction between AE’s.

Typical day/week in the life? How much time is spent pulling on doors/face to face in the field vs performing other tasks (outbound phone/email activity, inbound lead follow up, admin work, internal meetings, etc.)?

Does Toast offer its prospects the option to finance the hardware? Do they have to go through a separate financing partner, or does Toast offer that service themselves?

Any insight on the Retail team Toast is rolling out? The position in my area has been posted (and reposted) for months. Employee reviews of Toast are mostly terrible but sounds like they come from reps on other teams. Are they being too picky about who to hire or are they having trouble finding ppl?

What is the monthly quota for retail reps? Is the quota the same each month or does it vary throughout the year? What’s the average deal size in MRR?

There seem to be seriously conflicting reviews from AEs online regarding management, quota attainment, workload, etc. Is Toast worth applying to?

For the new Retail team, what do the territories look like? Are they a certain mile radius, a specific set of cities, or something else? Sounds very early stages so AEs may have work beyond assigned territory, but trying to get an idea of intended territory.

I’m interviewing for the retail AE role, the salary is roughly $15k lower than my current pay but the OTE is $30k more. How realistic is OTE on the retail side? What does the work load look like? Will it be 40-50 miserable hours per week in the field or is it a pretty relaxed environment?

For Retail Account Executive reps, how often can you expect to be in territory? I was told maybe 3-4 days per month and that they would be lukewarm meetings I pre-set. The expectation was also set that I would not being staying overnight ever as my territory was strictly local. Is that accurate?

What is quota attainment looking like on the Retail side of things? I recently went through the first round of interviews and the recruiter told me that 100% of reps hit last year... Red flag?

The ramping period seems a bit long (10 months) from what my recruiter mentioned. During my first year, can I realistically expect to hit my OTE if the ramp is that long? Retail Account Executive.

How often do you have to be on the road as an Account Executive to see success in the role? Would it depend on which vertical you're selling into? (i.e. SMB, MM, Enterprise).

What is the best size/segment? How is the retail segment sales team doing? Is there opportunity in the Retail industry to be successful?

Can someone from the Toast Retail side explain their experiences with compensation and, leadership ? If you can be open about what you’re set to make & what goes into all of that. And is the future bright for that vertical

Being a huge company that has lots of process in place and I'm sure great training too do you feel toast is very "rigid" or "corporate" on how you sell? If you are used to more of a startup vibe where you can creative but still follow some process do you think you'd struggle at toast?

What does career progression look like at toast after the inside sales AE role? It seems that selling tons of transactional deals in the inside sales AE role isnt really sustainable long term. I would guess too much of grind each week leadings to burnout...is there a MM team or other role to go into

for the inside sales AE role (level 1 not senior) is 130k OTE realistic? Also what is the base? I was told its only a base of around 55k despite OTE of 130...

What is like selling multiple smaller deals to restaurants each month (5-8 or so right?) compared to a more MM sale where you may only close 1 or 2 deals a month?

When it says that 56% of sales reps are hitting quote for an OTE of 126-206K, does that mean 56% of reps are taking home 206K? Also, current reps, how is the outlook for the future in sales at toast? Is commission structure relatively constant?
