What is it like working on the commercial segment at Samsara? I know its many small deals you have to close with a pretty high annual quota. Would you say if you put the work in and can create pipeline that Quota and OTEs are realistic? Or is just a constant grind/boiler room setting?

Grind for SURE. Tailwinds: Product is industry leading, and Samsara’s recognition is only going to continue to grow. Product is also easy to demo. Samsara pays their sellers well, and the accelerators are LEGIT. 
Headwinds: Samsara is usually on the more expensive side (for good reason, so you’ll need to be prepared to sell on value), Samsara’s sales culture is one that expects you to hit quota every single quarter.. and there certainly can be consequences for missing quota 2 quarters in a row. It’s not a blanket rule… but I’ve seen it enforced multiple times. Everything from a PIP to straight up getting fired.

NET: Yes it’s a grind. It’s an amazing product, and if you put in the work you can make a TON of money. Expect to be held accountable to meeting your quota qtr after qtr.
