How does the Prime Named Account Executive role differ from other AE roles at Salesforce?

Prime AEs are speciality AEs for certain clouds. Digital AEs are responsible for Marketing and Commerce Clouds. There’s also Tableau, Mulesoft, Slack and Revenue Cloud Prime AEs. The Core AE is responsible for the account holistically and “core” SKUs/CRM, then works with the extended team of primes

I'm assuming you are referencing the Core Prime AE.  The are overall responsible for the accounts and get quota relief for everything sold into those accounts.  Their "CoPrimes" sell specific solutions and are specialist.  For example Mulesoft, Slack, and Digital Coprimes.

There are "core reps" and prime/speciality reps. The core reps sell the core products. Sales CRM, service cloud, accounting software, etc. The speciality reps sell their other products such as MuleSoft, Marketing Cloud, Slack, etc. When you have a deal, as you want it to be multi-threaded you are co-selling internally with each reps for the products the client wants and as co selling externally with external partners who will do the implementation

It's a generic name for Enterprise AE's.  What you really want to ask is the AE level (7,8,9) and what the Segment is (Commercial, Enterprise, Strat)
