How effective is the sales training program at SHI International for individuals interested in pursuing a career in sales?

When I was an enterprise field account executive it was nonexistent. I'm sure it was different for inside sales though. If you are trying to go to the field expect no support (but more freedom).

In the field, you get very little. It's mostly learning from OEM reps who come in to teach you about technology.  Inside Reps have more access to tools, onsite training, vendor training.

I started in the SM SLED department as an Inside Sales Rep. So, I didn't support any field rep or anything, I had my own book of business. First time in Tech Sales, you learn a ton in training and get to network with a lot of OEMs. You'll get a great foundation. After around 3 years, I was able to move to take a position with one of our OEMs; however, there are also positions within the company to grow as well.

Pretty much non-existent for inside, but decent experience to learn from. A lot of the leaders are poor too, but they'll hire mostly anyone so it's a good foot in the door if you're still young

I can speak directly on it from a Services role perspective - the training was pretty straightforward and didn't take much time. Nothing earth shattering was delivered in terms of process or job related. From working with the Account Executives, I know it is more direct and they provide a 3 month ramp period with regular check-in's for new hires.

They have a talent retention problem and their solution is to bolster training rather than paying employees more.

Training exists but he effectiveness is bad. Most of it is not presented in a "practical use" way that demonstrates how to sell a particular solution or set of products.

Overall, their sales training is solid and beneficial to all levels of Sales Professionals....early career or more experienced.
