How challenging is the transition from SDR to AE role at SHI International?

As everything in the organization, depends on who your upline manager is and the book you get. I've seen some get pushed up quickly, others get stuck making 40k w no comp for a year or more.

Depends on the territory and the direct managment in charge of that territory. If its moving into a farming and hunting role, its not bad. If youre completely hunting- move on.

If you have  mix of accounts that are already buying and some net new to hunt assigned to you, you'll will be fine!

If you're strictly hunting there are far better opportunities. You will not be able to survive on the base while trying to build out a sellable sales territory.

For the most part, if you are enthusiastic, there to learn, and "play the game" of being a good employee and doing what management asks, you get rewarded and more opportunities open up for you. And I don't mean "play the game" in a negative way - most managers I've worked with there are great, take their feedback and work hard and they see it. After 3 years, I took a role with one of our OEMs to give you a timeline. I've seen others do the same, but take AE roles within SHI based on that timeline. Some of it comes down to timing/job availability...and of course, if you are open to relocating, but you don't have to if you are patient.
