I was with the Kompyte business unit. The product is vastly inferior to Klue + Crayon. The Sales team had 12 head to head deals with Klue in Q1 and lost all of them. The CEO and COO don't know what they're doing and are scared for their jobs. They have a habit of randomly firing people and blaming them for the current quarter's numbers. Product is bad, go to market strategy is bad, and leadership is DEFINITELY bad. I don't want to write a novel so I'll end things here. Take an AE job here if you're desperate but otherwise, stay away and look for greener pastures.

Semrush has a great product and you work with great coworkers. Leadership was lacking in structure and prioritization of needs and a huge miss on communication among other things. There is potential opportunity within the company but I would say that if you are looking for a well run sales organization this is not the best fit for you.

Comp plan was re-worked. Quotas up 15%+ across the board. Lack of tooling necessary to manage volume of interactions required. Great product, good people, not ideal selling environment. New targets were hit by less than 15% of org historically.

Dear Sender, While our compensation plans were updated in 2024 to align with new products, pricing adjustments, and overall growth goals, the claim that only 15% of AEs hit the plan is inaccurate. In 2024, over 60% of our sales team achieved quota, and 21 team members qualified for President’s Club, representing 16% of our sales org. Additionally, our sales organization grew 100% YoY, making it the fastest-growing team at Semrush. This was also demonstrated during our analyst day presentation and recent earnings call. There are many small products to sell that range between $500 and $1000 annually. There is a new Enterprise solution that ranges from $40k to $150k annually, but those take 3 to 6 months to close.
