In an account exec type role, do sellers keep ownership of accounts for a period of time to enable upselling or are they handed off to a separate account team?

Okta doesn't have Account Managers. There are a few from Auth0. There is a lot of account management. A lot. You will keep the accounts you sold until you change territories (yearly). You will  be assigned active accounts. Learn to submit tech tickets or active accounts will dominate your time.

Your territory will most likely have some paying customers, and a number of prospects. How many would depend on the size of accounts you sell to. For example: Commercial vs. Enterprise segments. Likely you keep the accounts you’d sign up.

This changed recently in some segments - particularly Commercial North America. Not sure on the exact rules but they've moved to a more crowdstrike model.

Depends on the segment, in Strategic you will have set list of accounts to sell into for the fiscal year. At the end of the fiscal, you could petition to retain it and executive management makes the final call around the time of SKO.

My understanding for smaller segments, if the account grows you typically lose the account to another AE. There is no account managers as someone mentioned - just Customer Success Managers and Renewal Managers.
