Pros: If in the best stores, large money potential ($4000 checks for certain two week periods, depending on holiday season or time of year / market), laid back job, decent change to rise up to leadership but company does play favorite as does every company
Cons: Long hours (10 - 9pm (some areas 8pm). UNNECESSARY meeting on Saturday mornings once a month. Most stores don’t see much foot traffic but you are penalized and potentially fired if you don’t sell. You see fellow salesmen lucky enough to be in “money stores” applauded for literally just being in the right place at the right time. I can admit that in some areas, customers literally come in already wanting a specific bed most of the time. In other stores you might not even see a customer. Commissions on merchandise could and should be higher. Certain beds can sell for over $1000 and the salesmen could only make $10 because of the discounts forced upon the sale because of holiday sales, haggling etc. Discounts shouldn’t drastically affect earnings from a sale.
