During my time at MSC I never witnessed a promotion from within. It was always an outside hire (former Grainger) male. There is definitely a “boys club” vibe. Commission plans are super confusing. Nobody takes the time to explain how reps get paid. Inside team is pretty good overall.

This company has struggled for years to be in touch with the people doing the work. Eric CEO has yes men around him and complacency has set in. Great for an easy job, but for growth this is not the company to be in the longterm.
