This company has struggled for years to be in touch with the people doing the work. Eric CEO has yes men around him and complacency has set in. Great for an easy job, but for growth this is not the company to be in the longterm.

Base pay was meh and comp plans change like the wind, account segmentation etc. Company has great product and support but a lot of work to do to be the best.

During my time at MSC I never witnessed a promotion from within. It was always an outside hire (former Grainger) male. There is definitely a “boys club” vibe. Commission plans are super confusing. Nobody takes the time to explain how reps get paid. Inside team is pretty good overall.

MSC is a stable industrial supplier very well positioned to compete in the industrial supply spaces. Developing in person relationships with key decision makers and influencers along with strong product knowledge should get you locked in to identify and grow sales and your career opportunities.
