Question

Interviewing for Strategic Account Manager role, sounds like a good opportunity.

What do they like to see in the panel interview from a sales process? Any key points to touch on?  What qualities do they appreciate more? Any specific questions they ask to stump you?

They like to see if they like you, this is the most important part of the interview process. They run an A4A format, so it gradually starts surface level until it gets into in depth personal questions about your processes and core beliefs, they may challenge those. Just stay baseline, confident, and show a desire to go beyond the surface level reasoning as to why a customer wants a product. Show them that you understand why they are reaching out by asking them questions that get them to expose the REAL reason as to why they are examining a product. use this reason to create an exceptional value prop. When you position the product as not only solving for their issues, but helping make their life a little easier- you get a strong buy in and a customer who feels like they were treated like a human being.

Consultative/ solution selling is a must. Be curious during discovery. Demonstrate active listening and “ customer obsession” (one of the core values). On the SAM team you will need excellent pipeline management.
